With many fans including myself anticipating the release of Classroom of the Elite season 3, we knew it was going to be worth it. The most recent season did not hold up to expectations and was incredibly boring. Here’s why.
We first Classroom of the Elite in this article talking about a second season. We were excited about a second season as season 1 was incredibly entertaining and we were longing to see a return to the games and challenges played in the first season. That’s essentially what we got!
Cracks showed in S2
I’ll be honest, during this season, we did see a few cracks start to show in the production. The voice acting dropped in quality, the animations weren’t that good.

Nevertheless, it did, and due to its success, we saw the confirmation of another season.
Classroom of the Elite Season 3
With the announcement of season 3, I’ll admit I was happy. Not reading the manga I was interested to see where the story would progress, and I wanted to see Class D progress more and more.
I think it went wrong with the lack of challenges, and focus on dialogue and drama with the characters. It felt shallow and not authentic. There was just too much focus on this and as such the season was far more boring than it needed to be.

It didn’t see much value in these scenes and the last three episodes of Classroom of the Elite season 3 were the worst and most interesting.
We did see some interesting developments with Ryūen which I liked but nothing too major. It was mainly just him coming to terms with his defeat at the hands of Ayanokōji.
There is a tense scene where Ryūen attempts to head-kick Ayanokōji but it’s blocked quite easily. Ayanokōji even compliments him. If you can believe it. He then says he’s going to try and get him kicked out.
Having been already under the threat of this from Kushida since at least season 1. Ryūen making these threats just seems forced and pointless, as Ayanokōji barely takes any notice of it.
Room to return?
To be honest, I think that’s it time for Classroom of the Elite to pack it in. It just doesn’t hit the same anymore. It’s sad but it is what it is.
Season 1 was the best. It was the best written, had the best pacing, didn’t feel forced, felt the most real and more.
