Fantasy is abundant in anime and in 2021 there are lots of fantasy anime to choose from, with lots of new and eye catching titles being added every year for us to watch. So how does this fare on Netflix and what Fantasy anime titles are on this platform? Well in this article we will be listing the current Top 10 Fantasy Anime to watch on Netflix. We will only be including picks that feature at least and English dub.
10. Is it wrong to try pick up girls in a dungeon?
Now with a title like that I’m sure that your already getting an idea of what this anime is about in your head and I’m sure you’re not far off. Well this anime follows the story of the exploits of Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old solo adventurer under the goddess Hestia. As the only member of the Hestia Familia, he works hard to make ends meet. He looks up to Ais Wallenstein, a famous and powerful swordswoman who once saved his life, and with whom he fell in love. This anime features many fantasy scenes within it and this is why we have decided to feature it on this list. On Netflix there is currently an English, Spanish Brazilian Portuguese dub, as well as the Japanese original.
9. The Idhun Chronicles
The Idhun Chronicles follows the story of a necromancer called Ashran, who after seizes power in Idhún, enforcing his reign of terror through an army of flying snakes, the first battle for the land’s freedom will take place on the Earth, where impulsive teenager Jack and aspiring wizard Victoria will face dangerous assassin Kirtash, sent by Ashran to Earth to destroy the Idhunites who fled his tyranny. This anime is a Netflix original means that it’s going and has got a lot of promotional and other funding so that’s why it’s on this list. There is currently a an English, French, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese dub as well as the European Spanish original.
8. The irregular at the magic school
The Irregular at a Magic Highschool follows the story of Tatuya who while attending a school competition, faces scepticism, and realises she must prove himself worthy of the engineering squad. We decided to include this anime for the abundant scenes of Fantasy action and this is why it is on this list. There is currently no dubs for this series, however there are English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese subtitles.
7. Blue Exorcist
Blue Exorcist is an anime that we haven’t featured yet on any of our lists but it’s an anime about Rin who is on his way to reinforce the barrier that protects their city from demons, student exorcist Rin (Nobuhiko Okamoto) and his twin brother encounter a demon disguised as a young boy. The world of Blue Exorcist consists of two dimensions, attached to each other as a mirror and its reflection. The first is the material world where humans live, Assiah and the other is Gehenna, the world of demons, which is ruled by Satan. Originally, a journey between the worlds, or even a contact between them, is impossible.
However, any demon is able to pass to the dimension of Assiah through the possession of a living being in it. Even so, demons have historically wandered among humans unnoticed, visible only to people who have had contact with demons before. There is currently an English and French dub available as well as the Japanese original.
6. Children of the whales
14-year-old Chakuro is the protagonist of CHILDREN OF THE WHALES. He is an archivist on a moving island called the Mud Whale, which wanders a vast sea of sand. Chakuro is one of many “Marked” villagers who possess thymia, a magic that allows users to control objects, similar to telekinesis. 31 Mar 2018. There is currently an English, European Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese dub as well as the Japanese original. This anime has lots of Fantasy related to it and that is why we decided to host it on this list.

5. Record of the Grandcrest war
Record of the Grandcrest war follows the main protagonist, Siluca Meletes, a young mage who scorns the feuding lords for abandoning their people and Theo Cornaro, a wandering knight and Crest holder who is trying to liberate his hometown from its tyrant lord. This is a great anime to get into and it certainly is similar to lots of other fantasy type anime that we may have covered before and that’s why we decided to include it on this list. There is currently only an English dub available for this anime on Netflix and also the Japanese original.
4. Sword Art Online
The story of the first season follows the adventures of Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki, two players who are trapped in the virtual world of “Sword Art Online” (SAO). They are tasked to clear all 100 Floors and defeat the final boss in order to be freed from the game. It is currently available on Netflix with an English dub as well as the Japanese original. Sword Art Online is a very popular anime that has been around for some time and that’s why it’s on this list, you can check out this anime here.
3. Highschool DXD
Highschool DXD is an anime that we have coverd already in our Top 10 Anime Similar To Shimoneta article and features many busty action scenes and similar Harem ones to in Shimoneta but it also has a fantasy side and that’s why it is on this list, near the top, but still on the top. Anyway if you haven’t already watched this anime it’s about Highscool DXD follows the story of a man who is killed by a women as she takes his soul. He then is given a second chance by demon goddess who grants him another life if he becomes her servant for her house, The House Of Gremory. There are 4 seasons on Funimation, all with English dubs as well as the first season of this anime is on Netflix with an English dub available.
2. Anime Ga Kill
Anime Ga Kill is an anime I have seen featured many times on website such as Netflix as it’s a very popular anime that came out on March 20, 2010 and continuing until December 22, 2016. Anime Ga Kill is about Tatsumi, a young villager who travels to the Capital to raise money for his home only to discover strong corruption in the area. The assassin group known as Night Raid recruits the young man to help them in their fight against the corrupt Empire. It is currently available on Netflix with the first season available. On Netflix there is currently an English, Spanish Brazilian Portuguese dub, as well as the Japanese original.
1. Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan is a ver popular and well liked anime which originally ran from 2013 to the present. It’s a very gruesome and graphic anime that is worth getting invested in as there is a new season coming out this year. The anime is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous walls that protect them from gigantic man-eating humanoids referred to as Titans; the story follows Eren Yeager, who vows to exterminate the Titans after a Titan brings about the destruction of his hometown and the death of his mother. There is currently an English dub as well as the Japanese original.
