This post is dedicated to the character Kiyotaka Ayanokōji who appears in Classroom Of The Elite. We will discuss his appearance, aura, personality, history and much more in this post. This is the Kiyotaka Ayanokōji character profile.
Overview
Without a doubt, Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is the best character in Anime. Being also the main character, we get the most insight into him. Far more than we get for the other characters like Horikita or Kushida for example. He starts just like the other students in Classroom of the Elite and is in Class 1D. During the introductory period where the students are meeting each other for the first time, instead of trying to socialise, Kiyotaka judges and passively assesses everyone, coming up with little internal notes about them.

Whether this was his intention or not is unclear, and he carries on with this persona.
Appearance and Aura
Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is about 6ft tall with short orange or brown hair and orange eyes which gives us a red glow sometimes in the show. He dresses in the normal Academy uniform and doesn’t wear any stupid accessories or wigs for example. His appearance is plain and ordinary and he looks just like any kind of normal school student.
His aura is entirely plain and gives off a feeling of dread and emotionless. He speaks in a low-pitched monotone voice which sometimes comes off in a creepy way. However most of the time he is quite reserved, even though there are some scenes where we get to see the real Kiyotaka:
This persona that Kiyotaka Ayanokōji gives off is a mere facade. This is confirmed at the end of season 2 when Ayanokōji has his fight with Ryūen he admits that the way he is perceived by most of the people in school is wrong.
Essentially, he says that there is no need for him to even conceal himself anymore, as before he wanted only to rise to the top without drawing attention to himself. However, in the final scene, we see that he does not care if people know his real intentions and how he is behind closed doors. Hopefully, we will see this expanded in Classroom Of The Elite Season 3.
Personality
Now if you’ve watched this Anime at all you’ll know that this character has little of the way of a personality. One could even argue that his lack of one is a personality in itself. Anyway, he’s boring, cold and uninteresting, with little in the way of mannerisms or anything to make him unique. But I think that is the point.
History in Classroom of the Elite
Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is the main character in Classroom of the Elite and stays the main character up to season 2. It is unlikely that he will change. He starts as an average student at the Academy and slowly works his way into relationships with the other pupils, not giving too much away about his actual talent. He carefully waits in the shadows while assessing all of the other characters’ intentions and behaviours, just like a sociopath.

I think it’s important to mention the time in the earlier episode of Season 1 when he catches Kikyō Kushida swearing about Horikita. During this time she challenges him and then grabs his hand so it touches her breast. She then declares that if he ever exposes her true self, she will accuse him of rape or sexual assault.

Now without spilling anything this ends at the end of season 2. Also at the end of season 2, we have Kiyotaka Ayanokōji revealing his true identity to Kakeru Ryūen.
Kiyotaka Ayanokōji’s Arc in Classroom of the Elite
There is not much of an arc because essentially his characters don’t change at all. His character remains the same because he doesn’t express what he truly wants, instead, he keeps it a secret, until the final episode of Season 2. In season 3 we might get something different but that’s all for now.
Character Significance in Classroom of the Elite
The character’s significance in Classroom of the Elite is vital to the Kiyotaka Ayanokōji Character Profile overall. He is the main character and clearly the most experienced and intellectually superior in his class. Without him, the show would be nothing. Anyway, more content will be added to this soon, but in the meantime, check out some of these related posts below.
