If you love the adventure genre with post-apocalyptic elements, The Book of Eli is a must-watch because of its interesting plots and twists, deserving itself the first spot on the list of best adventure movies of 2010.
Set in America 30 years after the nuclear war, the story follows Eli, a man who has the last remaining copy of bible and is on a mission to travel and hand it over to the right authority because if it falls into the wrong hands, the bible will be used to wrongly guide the people.

5. Monsters
Monsters is one of the best sci-fi adventure movies from 2010. Usually, adventure movies have lots of action in them, but this one has romance and tragedy, so be prepared for tears.
Six years ago, an alien invasion had spread throughout the US-Mexico border and a large wall is built surrounding the US to keep it quarantined. A young photographer, Andrew is given to task to escort his employer’s daughter, Samantha back to the US. But the task won’t be easy, as they have to pass multiple army checkpoints and also travel through the dangerous zone filled with aliens, in order to arrive safely.
During their journey, Andrew and Samantha fall in love, and are close to reaching their destination, but surviving alone against strong aliens won’t such be an easy task.

4. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The 2000s was the era of Narnia, so how can we ever make a best adventure movies from 2010 list without including the last movie of Narnia?
Lucy and Edmund Pevensie are stuck with their annoying cousin Eustace Scrubb because their two elder siblings are in America for World War II. It seems to be a normal day, until a painting of a ship suddenly transports all three of them to an ocean in Narnia. Luckily, they are rescued by King Caspian of the Dawn Treader ship.

But the four are eventually able to escape and continue their voyage.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader marked an end to the Narnia movie series, where all the characters had grown up and paid their last visit to Narnia. It’s one of those adventure movies of 2010 which set a high standard for all the next adventure films.

3. How to Train Your Dragon
While there are many good adventure movies from 2010, the animated movie which truly deserves to be here is How to Train Your Dragon.
Dragons are seen the biggest threat to the peace in Viking village of Berk, as they often attack and risk the lives of villagers and livestock. While the rest of the village trains and goes to fight against the dragons, the Chief’s son, Hiccup, is left behind as he’s too weak to fight.
So, Hiccup spends most of his time creating mechanical devices and even shoots down a rare dragon using a bola launcher he had made.

However, given the fear villagers have of dragons, bringing such a change amongst them will not be easy.

2. Alice in Wonderland
Alice Kingsleigh is a 19-year-old girl who is coping with the loss of her father and struggling as she’s been having strange dreams, which she’s unable to explain. At a garden party, Alice receives an unexpected proposal from an aristocrat. She panics and notices a strange rabbit, whom she follows and ends up falling into the rabbit hole.
When she enters through a door in the hole, she finds herself in a fantastical land called the “Underworld”.
Alice is greeted by a group of magical creatures, who already know her, and inform her that she has been destined to save the Underworld by slaying the Jabberywocky and freeing this world from tyranny of the Red Queen.
Alice believes they’ve gotten the wrong person. But her new magical friends reassure her that although she doesn’t remember, she came to this world many years ago as well, and now, they need her again.
Alice in Wonderland crossed $1 billion at the box office, making it an unforgettable film among the adventure movies of 2010. Its intriguing plot and interesting characters altogether make it a movie worth watching again and again.

You probably guessed this one, right?
Cobb and Arthur have the rare ability to enter into people’s dream and extract useful information. Cobb’s biggest disturbance in his missions are the memories of his late wife, Mal, who keeps appearing in the missions and his dreams.

Inception is the most difficult movie to understand from adventure movies of 2010. But it’s plot twists, and unpredictable storyline is exactly what makes it such a huge masterpiece.
