The Anime Classroom Of The Elite was ended inconclusivley, with many fans hoping for an exsplantion into how Kiyotaka saved the whole class, there have been many talks about where the Anime will go. That is why we will be descussing Classroom Of The Elite Season 2, if it is possible, the time it will release and more.
The concept of Classroom Of The Elite is very interesting. 4 different class all divided into the best in the worst, with A being the best Class and D being the worst. The story follows Kiyotaka the main character, who, in the final stages of the Anime saves his entire class to complete the first challenge sucessfully and come out on top.
For anyone who hasn’t watched it we suggest you give Classroom Of The Elite a shot, it’s differently worth watching. As always there are major spoilers ahead regarding the plot and the characters etc, so if you haven’t finished it we suggest you finish it before you read ahead in this article.
Main Narrative of Classroom Of The Elite
The story is based on the novels written by Shōgo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose and follows students in Class D as they begin their journey at this newfound school they’re attending. However, it’s revealed earlier on in the series that this isn’t any normal type of school. The school they attend is based and run on a hierarchy structure which the students all have to adjust to and follow without fail. The students are awarded points based on their actions, and they can use these points to purchase anything they wish.
Do students get merit points for actions and bonus points, as well as S points? I’m not quite sure what the different ones mean but in the earlier episodes, everyone is awarded a large number of points at the start. If you want to learn about the point system in the series, you can read about it here.
The school has 4 classes of students, A, B, C, D. A being the top class (where everyone is trying to get) and class D, the bottom. Our main character is Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is in Class D, and we see most of the episodes through his POV, with boring voice-overs and his opinion on most subjects regarding all the events in the series. We are also introduced to Suzune Horikita who aspires to be in class A and is very passionate about it. She doesn’t hide the fact that she wants to overtake all the other classes, despite her position in Class D, and doesn’t care about leaving the other members (who can’t keep up) behind. She has a generally unlikeable character but there’s not a lot bad about her either, we’ll get to her later.
This is where we introduced to our main character, who we will be going through later. By the second episode, everyone has burned through their points which are essentially a digital currency at this point. The only 2 students in Class D who haven’t, are Suzune and Kiyotaka. They save their points and they both seem to be the only clever individuals in the class. Suzune is also very antisocial and doesn’t interact with any of the other students during the first two days.
The only person she seems to talk with is Kiyotaka. She seems interested and mystified by him despite his boring personality, however, their interactions with other students and Kiyotaka, in particular, become more persistent throughout the series. The students are given different challenges throughout the series.
We never really know Kiyotaka’s true intentions until the final episode and we never really get to find out what drives him. He seems to display a certain lack of interest for anything or anyone but he shows that he is competent in the tasks he carries out while in Class D. He essentially plans a lot of the classes successes whilst still retaining the idea of himself being boring and insignificant. I don’t think many people who watched the series realised that Kiyotaka displays multiple sociopathic and psychopathic traits throughout the series and he normally came across as creepy to me.
First, we have Kiyotaka Ayanokōji, who is a student at the Advanced Nurturing School. He’s pretty boring and ordinarily. From a fixed POV he doesn’t really possess any interesting character traits. It’s only revealed properly in the final episode of season 1 that he displays sociopathic and psychopathic traits in the way he acts and regards his classmates. This obviously makes him more interesting and it did catch me off guard when I heard what he said in the final episode. If there is a Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 comes around that Kiyotaka will certainly be in it.
Throughout the series, there were constant flashbacks of his past, where it seems he might have been subject to some harsh treatment. He stresses that he, just like Horikita wants to reach Class A. It’s shown that he just wants to use people to get to the top. Although I don’t really like him, I am kind of rooting for him.
Next is Suzune Horikita who I thought at the start was unbearable. She has a stuck up nature and seems to look down on others. She doesn’t seem to have many friends and is very unlikable. She is also very antisocial and often malicious in the way she talks to others. It’s never really revealed why she is like this. Maybe it’s because of her older brother, I’m not really sure, but her character isn’t really gone into that much. Horikita will most certainly appear in Classroom Of The Elite.
She’s also a hypocrite and often makes fun of Kiyotaka for reasons that involve herself. She makes fun of him for sitting on his own, yet she does the same thing? This made me dislike her character a lot. It’s ironic how clever she thinks she, is even though she gets played by Kiyotaka anyway. He uses her for his own gains, she has to allow it anyway though.
Last off we have Kikyō Kushida who displays a very warm, calm and caring personality. She seems to be well-liked among her fellow classmates and displays a nice gentle nature overall. Even in the first episode, she states her main goal is to become friends with every person in the school.
However in the 3rd or 4th episode, it’s shown that she has a completely different side, and the personality she displays most of the time is completely fake. It’s scary and again displays sociopathic traits but the only one who finds out her secret is Kiyotaka. She then threatens him by saying she will claim that he raped her if he reveals her secret. This displays her actual personality. Nevertheless, she fools everyone else apart from Horikita who ignores and generally stays away from her in genreal.
I didn’t really have a problem with most of the characters in the series, but some I found unbearable for their over the top dialogue, especially Manabu, it was as if he thought he was Horatio Kane from CSI Miami. Nevertheless, there were some pretty interesting characters that I liked alot such as Chabashira and Ryuuen.
It’s important to note that there were alot of characters in this series so it was hard to keep track of them and write for all of them. However, I did find a lot of interest in certain characters and I liked the way that alot of them were written in regards to the dialogue, although I thought sometimes it was too over the top for my liking.
Some were completely forgettable, whilst others I could never get out of my head. Nevertheless I’m sure that they will be expanded upon when the series progresses and when Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 comes around.
End Plot – Classroom Of The Elite Season 2
The end plot and general ending of Classroom Of The Elite is pretty amazing, even though I was expecting something like that anyway. Unsurprisingly, Kiyotaka saves everyone in his class by betting on points and changing the class leader without Horikita’s knowledge. Episode 12 is also where we see Kiyotaka’s cunning traits shine as well as his psychopathic and/or sociopathic ones. I very much liked the little dialogue he gave at the end stating his true intentions. It’s a brilliant ending to a first season, and we would be surprised if you didn’t want to know what happened next.
This whole ending was designed to make us wonder, we all wanted to know what is going to happen next. The ending sees Class D awarded around 275 points and come out on top on the island experiment. This is all thanks to Kiyotaka and hardly Horikita. Kiyotaka is very cunning and makes sure constantly that all attention for his effective actions is drawn away and put on other people such as Horikita and Kushisa. It’s a very clever and effective strategy he seems to follow all the time.
His true intentions for this are unknown, but the higher-ups notice that Kiyotaka is the true reason that Class D is advancing. Chabashira even relays this to Horikita, stating this he is the more efficient and effective students of the whole class, much to her dislike I imagine.
In the earlier episodes, Horikita tries to figure out Kiyotaka’s motives but he objects saying, “I’ll help you ascend to Class A like I said, but don’t go prying into my life”. Why he chooses to say this is unknown, but if I were to guess I would say it’s for a very good reason. He wants to keep all his motives unknown, and wants to blend in with everyone, without being noticed. Kiyotaka’s only interest seems to be climbing to the top, to get to Class A.
Kiyotaka True Motives – Classroom Of The Elite Season 2
It’s important that we take into account the final scene and what he says, it’s of great significance, and it solidified the conclusion I had drawn about him previously. This conclusion is that Kiyotaka is a psychopath and/or a sociopath. First of all, just look at him, his eyes are dead, he never expresses emotion such as happiness or sadness, he never smiles laughs etc.
However, it’s not just that, researchers believe that psychopaths are a direct result of environmental factors during upbringings such as the subjects childhood and teenage life. Psychopaths sometimes can be seen as trustworthy and charming by other people.
These emotional traits are what Kiyotaka sometimes displays and this points more and more to my conclusion. Also, we keep seeing these little flashbacks of Kiyotaka’s past. He may have been in some kind of experiment when he was a child and this is a persistent thing that comes up during the first season.
If you ask me this a clear sign of his actual intentions and his character overall. I don’t think many people see his character as I do, lots of people describe him as a “bad-ass” because of his actions, whilst never actually thinking about his true intentions. This development we see in Episode 12 makes Kiyotaka a way more interesting character, and it adds to my theory on him. If you aren’t convinced on my theory, listen to what he says at very end of the final episode:
Hopes for a season 2 of Classroom Of The Elite as very high and this is for a number of reasons. First of all the series was very successful in terms of sales and overall notability. A lot of people have heard about this anime and it is loved among fans and critics. The licence for the anime has been sold to several different streaming platforms, making it more popular and accessible to lots of different types of anime watchers.
Will there be a Classroom Of The Elite Season 2?
As many of you may know, anime is adapted from a manga written by the original creator and then licensed to them. The first season only covered 3 of the 15 volumes that have been written regarding Classroom Of The Elite. There may be more volumes of the manga out there, but 15 is how many we know there are for certain, there may be more though.
This is vital in knowing if Classroom Of the Elite Season 2 is possible becuase it means a Season 2 of Classroom Of The Elite would be easy to make. This is becuase production company who are licensed to adapt Classroom Of The Elite Season 2, don’t need to wait for more content to be written. They have 12 more volumes to work with, like we said, the 15 is just as much as we know, there may be more out there.
The story was left on a rope in my opinion and we would find it hard to believe that another studio wouldn’t continue the production of Classroom Of The Elite even if the current studio ceased production for some reason. The content is there, so it’s highly possible that a new season will be made. There isn’t enough reason for there not to be.
Given the popularity and content that the production company has to go with, we would find it hard to believe that a second season isn’t on its way. Some people point to the fact that its been 3 years since the last episode was released, back in 2017, but this is no sign that production will cease altogether. Some Anime have gone on much longer hiatus like Full Metal Panic, so it’s entirely possible, just keep your hopes up.
When Will Season 2 of Classroom Of The Elite Air?
There are high hopes for a new Season 2 of Classroom Of The Elite, and we can only speculate when a new season will be released given the circumstances. We would have to make a calculated guess based on everything we have reviewed in this blog. Given the animes popularity, the time it’s been since the last season and the production companies history, we would say sometime this year (2021) or next year. As there shouldn’t be any licencing issues and definitely not any content issues we would hope for a new season this year, but 2022 seems safer and more realistic, we don’t want to get everyone hopes up.
We are only making a guess based on the evidence we have gathered. We, of course, could be incorrect, and we don’t want to trick or fool any of you with your own judgements. We hope this blog has been effective in providing you with an unbiased, effective and informational opinion as it was supposed to do.
