When 21-year-old Robbie Scott went out that day in February 2023, he was armed with a zombie knife and a plan to rob someone. What happened next was something no one could have seen coming.

Robbie Scott of Gateshead initially robbed a young teenager in a residential area in Newcastle. However, when confronted by the victim’s father, he turned to extreme methods to evade justice – squirting an acidic chemical into his face and eyes, leaving him blind in one eye. His sentence was increased from 10 to 14 years. Do you think this is justified?

Scott targeted a teenage boy in Newcastle, stealing his gold chain in broad daylight. But the real horror began when the boy’s father found Scott and confronted him—face to face—demanding he return what he stole from his son.

Instead of backing down, Scott took things to a horrifying level. He pulled out a drink bottle—filled with acid—and sprayed it into the father’s face.

The result? Permanent blindness in one eye, deep chemical burns, and a life forever changed. The man now lives with crippling anxiety, depression, and irreversible damage to his vision.

Scott was sentenced to 10 years in prison—a sentence many felt didn’t reflect the cruelty of the attack. But justice, it seems, had more to say.

After an appeal, the courts agreed: the original sentence was “unduly lenient.” In 2024, his prison term was increased to 14 years. The court made it clear—this kind of violence, and the lasting trauma it causes, demands serious accountability.

Robbie Scott may be behind bars, but the scars he left—both physical and emotional—will never fade for the victim and his family.
