The Instagram algorithm is ever-changing, and for some, this can mean an easier passage to a faster-growing account and more views, while for others it stagnates their account and makes their format very hard to use. In the last decade, one thing is certain, though, and that’s attention. If you can grab their viewer’s attention in the first 2-5 seconds either with a hook (such as a question) or, in other cases, by simply being loud and obnoxious, then you’ve got a fair few eyeballs on you. In this case, Farah Shams has found a way to grab her viewer’s attention and climb the Instagram popularity ladder, just not in any kind of redeeming way. Here’s why Farah Shams is the most irritating influencer on Instagram.
Clarification on Farah Shams
Now I should clarify, I mean, she is one of the most irritating influencers on Instagram, that’s for sure. However, I’ve yet to come across someone who makes my eyes roll so many times, especially when watching Farah Shams.

So what does Farah Shams post? Well, you have your average stuff, mainly just public videos of her annoying people and being loud, as featured below.

As you can see, with an impressive 712,791 likes as of the 16th of April 2024, this video from Farah Shams was quite a success.
The reactions of the men behind her I think are really what makes the video all the more hard to watch.
Bro, just look at their faces, it’s a mixture of embarrassment, disbelief, irritation, and realisation once they know what she’s doing.
“No more paying for plastic bags guys!” – ever heard that one before? One thing in common with videos of Farah Shams is the shouting, and if you don’t shout in yours at the top of your lungs in crowded spaces then don’t think you can ever compete with her.

The one redeeming quality of Farah Shams is that she doesn’t interfere with food service or transport employees directly and does not make their job harder, as far as I can see.

The worst part is that no one seems to join in with Farah Shams. They all just look very sad and embarrassed to be in the video. The first 5-6 guys in the post I embedded are the epitome of this.
Interestingly, the next video shows Farah inside a McDonald’s, which was posted after the 3rd of February.

Why is this significant? Because Farah Shams, a pro-Palestinian individual, was inside a restaurant of a corporation that does not cut ties with Israel as they slaughter all the people in Gaza?

You’d think Farah would have been boycotting, but maybe not? Who knows at this point? Anyway, onto the next video, if you’re ready.

It almost seems like she has to say every single thought that comes into her head, as is evident in this little video. Shouting about shaving her hairy legs and how everything is so expensive had people in the comments calling her out, with this man putting:
“So what ?
Should they give u for cheap?
Buy it if you can afford it otherwise go and get one from an off licence.
Stop screaming beautiful.”
Again, her formula seems to be:
- Go to a public place such as a mall, shopping center, or supermarket.
- Grab something such as a product, or just start shouting anyway.
- Shout about something/complain about something.
It’s so simple, and Farah Shams has nailed this approach! The thing is, though, it’s working, and while she’s only at 60,000 followers so far, I think with a slight content shift and more video output, she could hit 100,000 followers by the end of the year for sure.

It’s such a simple yet effective way of getting attention, and it’s a real shame that Instagram rewards these videos where she is not providing anything positive but just being a public nuisance that are favored.
She’s not on the level of people who use Instagram to promote their OnlyFans or porn, but she’s certainly down there.
Interestingly, her behavior is not regulated geographically, and Farah Shams will go anywhere and be rude, loud, and obnoxious.

The worst part is that some of the people in the comments start calling the people featured in the video NPC’s as they don’t really react and just stare at her.
Realistically, what would you do if someone started doing this?
Farah is not the worst or even one of the worst influencers on Instagram, and I’m sure Farah Shams, in her real life, is a nice person.
