Kakegurui Season 3, Release Date, Where To Watch + More

Kakegurui is a Dramatic Fictional Anime which came out in 2017. The Anime was well received when it came out and a season 2 was released in 2019. The second season got a lot more attention as it expand more on certain characters in the series. These included Yumeko Jabami, Mary Saotome, Ryota Suzui. In this article, we’ll go over the big possibility of Kakegurui Season 3, why it is so likely and of course the time it will premier.

Overview – Kakegurui Season 3

Kakegurui is all about a school called Hyakkaou Private Academy, which isn’t just any normal type of school. This school is involved in gambling and it’s actively encouraged. At the academy, gambling is seen more as a currency instead of entertaining activity. Students use it for lots of things, such as: betting, playing games and gaining power over others.

However, if you loose too much, you’ll end up as a house pet. house pets are the lowest in the ranking structure at the academy. This structure, is of course, based on hierarchy, much like most of the structures in the real world.

Characters – Kakegurui Season 3

There are a ton of character that stand out in Kakegurui. These of course include Yumeko Jabami, Mary Saotome, Ryota Suzui, other characters also include: Midari Ikishima, Sayaka Igarashi, Kirari Momobami and many more. Below are the main characters.

Yumeko Jabami is the main character in Kakegurui and is quite the eye-catcher too. Yumeko starts off in the Anime instantly gambling with side character called Mary Saotome, beating her in very honourable and polite way, much to Saotome’s dislike. Yumeko we certainly appear in Kakegurui Season 3. In this Anime, Yumeko is very cunning but honourable in her dealings regarding gambling. She isn’t smug or unlikable and is above all, very fair and honest.

After Mary is beaten by Saotome, she becomes her friend, and the too stick close to each other as the series goes on. Saotome starts off the series in the opposite way to Yumeko, being very smug and condescending. Saotome will most likely appear in Kakegurui Season 3. She assumes that Yumeko is a beginner and doesn’t know what she’s doing. Unfortunately, she finds out this is untrue the hard way.

Mary Saotome in Kakesurui Season 3

Finally we have Ryota Suzui, a student who starts off as a house pet in the series and tries to help Yumeko. He stays a house pet until Yumeko kindly donates her winnings from one of her successful gambling ventures to him. Ryota is thrilled and gladly thanks her for her gesture, vowing to return it later on. As Ryota appeared in Season 1, he will most likely be appearing alongside Yumeko and Saotome in Kakegurui Season 3.

The characters from Kakegurui are very well written and are all pretty likeable in the series. There were also many other character which are sub character which you could consider MC’s. There were too many of these to list and that’s why they are not included above. They were also very likeable and were well written.

The Ending of Kakegurui + why it’s important

To understand why a Season 3 of Kakegurui is possible and likely, we need to look at the ending of Kakegurui Season 2. The ending of the Anime was pretty irregular, with no real conclusive end to any of the arcs that came before. Most of the characters in the last episode conclude that Yumeko is “crazy, she’s full tilt bat shit insane“, as her pas is revealed and the horrific suffering of her mother is also shown. The ending isn’t particular that grand or entertaining. Instead, it’s all rounded up so that most of the main characters get what they want.

What would a Season 3 really look like. Most of the characters would be included however, there would be some absences such as Sayaka Igarashi. In one of the later episodes, Sayaka is forced into a game where if she loses, the president will have to cease all interaction with her, and vice versa. Kakegurui Season 3 will address the doubts surrounding the strange ending of the second season.

Will there be Season 3?

The great thing to note about Kakegurui is that it is part of the Netflix Originals Programme. This is good for many reasons, the most important of all will be outlined below:

  1. Netflix originals are shows which have been re-done by Netflix, are crated solely by Netflix, or funded by Netflix.
  2. Kakegurui got Second Season just over 2 years after the first season aired, with fans already showing growing support.
  3. The Manga for Kakegurui published by Square Enix in 2014 is still ongoing with no signs of stopping.
  4. Anime like Kaguya Sama! have had their renewal for a a Season 3 already, although the two Anime aren’t similar, they both posses the same amount of hype around them.
  5. Netflix is likely to commission a new series due to the want from fans and the potential revenue that it would bring.

There are many other reasons which I won’t go into to keep this post short, however they all contribute the my conclusion about Kakegurui Season 3. We can conclude that a Kakegurui Season 3 is likely because of this. You should be aware that the Anime industry is very unpredictable, however when Netflix is involved it’s normally a bit easier to tell.

When would Kakegurui Season 3 Release?

Currently, there has been no official announcement about a Season 3 of Kakegurui, via the creators and directors of the show, or via Netflix. However, CV estimates that the release of Kakegurui Season 3 will come about around 2022. We do not know the exact date and cannot estimate it. However, we strongly suggest that it will at least release in 2022.

It’s been over a year since the last episode of the Anime was released. This shows clearly that there has been enough time between the Animes for a 3rd Season. Therefore you should expect to Kakegurui Season 3 around mid 2022.

Where can I watch Kakekgurui Season 3?

You will certainly be able to watch Kakegurui vey easily, with Netflix being the obvious choice. Since Netflix commission the first and second season it’s almost certain that Kakegurui Season 3 will be released on Netflix. You can stream it on Netflix if you’re from the UK and the US, as well as some other European countries.

We do not know about other countries and can only speak for the ones we know of. You can always alter your VPN to easily change your viewing capabilities based on your location.
