Haganai Season 3 – What We Know Now

Haganai is an anime released in 2011 which follows the story of a group students who forms a Highschool club where they can hang out. They all have one thing in common. They all are friendless. Many Anime fans want to see a Haganai Season 3. And with some luck, it may come. We just have to wait.

That is binds them together and they join a club to spend time together and engage in activities together. Many fans enjoyed the Anime, as the characters were very likeable and funny and on top of that the show has a good story as well. In this article we will discuss a Season 3 of Haganai and go over some important facts about the Anime.

Overview of the Anime

Our main characters all join the club at the start and that is how they all become. They all have one thing in common as I said above. The majority of the episodes are just our characters arguing or going on stupid stunts and trips. Our main character Kodaka Hasegawa is pretty relatable and normal as it goes.

The first Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai manga series, written and illustrated by Itachi, has been published in Media Factory‘s Monthly Comic Alive magazine since its May 2010 issue, released on March 27, 2010. Additionally, the series has been collected in 14 tankōbon volumes. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the first manga series in North America under the title Haganai: I Don’t Have Many Friends.

A remade manga series, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai+ (僕は友達が少ない+), written by Misaki Harukawa and illustrated by Shouichi Taguchi, was published in Jump SQ.19 from the December 2010 to the July 2012 issues. Plus introduces the characters in a different order and goes through different adventures. The series was collected in two volumes, which were published on October 4, 2011, and August 3, 2012.

The main characters are important and it will be interesting to know will Haganai have a season 3 as it will be vital to know which characters are in the new Anime.

Kodaka Hasegawa, a transfer student to St. Chronica’s Academy, has found it difficult to make friends because of his mix of brown-blond hair (inherited from his deceased English mother) and fierce-looking eyes that make him look like a delinquent. One day, he accidentally comes across the equally solitary and very abrasive Yozora Mikazuki as she converses with “Tomo”, her “air” (imaginary) friend. Realizing that they lack social lives and skills, they decide that the best way to improve their situation is to form the Neighbors Club (隣人部, Rinjin-bu), “an after-school club for people with no friends like themselves”.

Other students with various backgrounds join the club: Sena Kashiwazaki is an attractive but arrogant idol who has no female friends and treats the boys as her slaves; Yukimura Kusunoki is an effeminate underclassman who idolizes Kodaka and strives to become manly like him; Rika Shiguma is a genius scientist with a perverted mind; Kobato Hasegawa is Kodaka’s little sister who generally cosplays as a vampire; and Maria Takayama, a ten-year-old foul-mouthed nun who serves as the club’s advisor. The story follows their adventures as the club tries out various school and outside social activities as practice for making friends.

Will there be a Haganai Season 3?

So will Haganai have a season 3? To understand that we need to look at 4 main things. Once we have gone over the 4 main reasons then we can summarize if Haganai will get a season 3 and when it will air. The reasons I mentioned before are:

Advertisements
  1. Weather or not the production company that made Haganai (AIC Build) would be able to fund and produce a 3rd season.
  2. If the manga can be properly adapted by AIC Build as it has before which is highly likely given they’ve produced 2 previous seasons.
  3. The manga has been written and it is still on going so this would be another thing to consider.
  4. If a 3rd season of Haganai would be profitable or not.

The manga has been writing and only around 14 volumes have been adapted. So that’s 2 seasons. This means that since the manga is still being written then there is still content to be adapted.

The question of the adaptation of the manga and will Haganai have a season 3, are very important questions that need to be answered in order to learn if this is possible.

Additionally, the series has been collected in 14 tankōbon volumes. So this hopefully means there will be another season 3 of Haganai. We will have to wait and see. It has been 9 years since the first anime aired so this is quite a long time. Nevertheless, anime has gone on long hiatus before like Full Metal Panic.

When would season 3 air? – Haganai season 3

We would have to say given everything we have discussed that the anime would appear sometime in the next 3 years. Hopefully sometime in 2023. Hopefully, this will be the case.

For now, that’s all we can say. Some Anime have gone on long breaks before, but that does not mean that it will return.

It is very hard for us to tell if it will return. But Haganai is a very popular Anime, I very much enjoyed it. Many other Anime fans liked it too, so I’m sure we will get something down the line.

Hopefully, we will get to see the Neighbors Club again and all the members that are a part of it. We hope you found this article useful. Check out a similar article below.

Conclusion

Given everything we have discussed, we would say that it is unlikely that there will be a Haganai season 3. It just isn’t that needed and it was not that popular either, I’m surprised it even got another season.

Hopefully, it will return again for one last time and give us another season but that is probably not going to happen. It has just been too long since the last season of this popular and much loved anime and therefore it is unlikely to return.

Did this post help you to understand will Haganai have a season 3? If it did please like and comment as well as sharing the post. Other than that, we hoped you enjoyed the post and all our others, stay safe.
